V-Mail (Victory Mail) was mail that was photographed and shrunk down to about 3x5 inches. This was done to create less bulk during the mailing process. In the upper left corner of the letter is a censor's stamp. All mail was read and edited, if necessary, before it was sent on. Postage from the front was free for the GI.
