Here's a picture of my dad on his wedding day, July, 31, 1943. The right hand photo is of dad ( on the right ) and his best man (in the wedding) as well as best army buddy, Scharbaur Eidson of Lovington, N.M. Scharbauer is in the front row of the Co. D picture. The photo was taken in Lovington in June, 1964, the first time that they had seen each other since the Seves fiasco and mass surrender on July 23, 1944. Scharbauer was a POW for nine months, but made it back to the states before Dad, who had been re-assigned to the Air Corps after his second wounding in Nov.'44, and didn't get home till August.
